Dan Yr Ogof National Showcaves – Even the Dinosaurs Liked Them!
You will find 10 places to see all included on one entry ticket - there is certainly a lot to do and see for everyone. The three separate caves, Dan-yr-Ogof, Cathedral Cave and Bone Cave each give you a distinctive underground experience. In Dan-yr-Ogof you walk through the wonderfully adorned passageways for slightly below 1 kilometre, or walk through the huge passageways of Cathedral Cave, carved out millions of years ago, and at the conclusion of this cave experience the thrill of walking behind the 40 foot high waterfalls that cascade down all around you in the "Dome of St Paul’s", an atmospheric conclusion to a really remarkable cave.
On site there is also one of the world’s biggest collections of life-sized dinosaur models, which range from the widely known Tyrannosaurus Rex and Brachiosaurs, to the less-known Tsintaosaurus. You will find more than 130 models here – is it possible to find your favourite dinosaur?
The Shire Horse Centre provides the delight of the 2 covered kid's play areas, the farmyard area, while making friends with the gentle giants – the Shire horses that are ready and waiting to say hi. Add in the Iron Age village, museum, and stone circles, and you have loads to do and see for all age groups.
For people who might prefer a break, there is always the Coffee shop along with the Rock and Dinosaur shop to take pleasure from.
